RRB ALP Minimum Eligibility Criteria 2025
Applicants for the RRB ALP position must have the minimum educational qualifications listed below to qualify for consideration for the respective posts: ● Nationality – A candidate must be a citizen of India or Nepal, or Bhutan.
● Candidates must have passed Class 10 (Matriculation/SSLC).
● They must also possess an ITI certificate or a Diploma/Degree in Engineering.

RRB ALP Selection Process 2025

RRB ALP Recruitment 2025 Syllabus and Exam Pattern

RRB ALP CBT 1 Exam Pattern
The CBT 1 exam for RRB ALP 2025 will be held online and will consist of 75 objective-type questions, each carrying one mark. The total time allotted for the exam is 60 minutes. Subjects included are Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Science, and General Awareness & Current Affairs.
- Marking Scheme: 1 mark for each correct answer.
- Negative Marking: 1/3 mark for each incorrect answer.
The minimum qualifying percentage required for CBT 1 is as mentioned below:

● OBC (NCL) – 30%

● ST – 25%
Remark: Candidates who appear for the CBT-1 exam will be shortlisted for the next stage based on their performance. The shortlisting for CBT-2 (Second Stage) will be done RRB-wide at a ratio of 15 times the number of vacancies, purely on the basis of merit in CBT-1. Marks will be normalized in all multi-shift exam stages. CBT-1 serves only as a screening test to determine eligibility for CBT-2, and marks shall not be counted while preparing the final merit list.
RRB ALP CBT 2 Exam Pattern
The RRB ALP 2025 CBT-2 exam will be conducted in online mode. The total duration of the exam will be 2 hours and 30 minutes, and it will consist of two parts: Part A and Part B.
- Part A will include questions from Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science, and General Awareness of Current Affairs.
- Part B will focus on questions related to the Relevant Trade.

Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)
Candidates who qualify both CBT-1 and CBT-2 will be shortlisted for the next round, which is the Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT). Based on performance in CBAT, the final selection list will be prepared. No negative marking will be applied in the CBAT stage.
RRB ALP Application Fee 2025
For RRB ALP 2025, the application fee is Rs. 500 for General, OBC, and EWS candidates, and Rs. 250 for SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, Minorities, and EBC candidates. A refund of Rs. 400 will be provided to General, OBC, and EWS candidates, while the entire Rs. 250 will be refunded to SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, Minorities, and EBC candidates after appearing for the CBT-1 exam.
RRB ALP Salary Structure 2025
As per the 7th CPC scale, Assistant Loco Pilots receive a starting salary ranging from Rs. 19,000 to Rs. 35,000 per month, subject to variation based on posting location and allowances, including:
- House Rent Allowance (HRA)
- Dearness Allowance (DA)
- Running Allowance (Based on the km travelled)
- Transport Allowance
- New Pension Scheme (10% Deduction), etc.
